“my own name.” is a transition song in between chapters. each chapter is a project while the singles give context to what is ahead. normal the kid is surrounded by loving friends and he still can’t seem to love even the most basic things about himself (like his name). Yet his friends stay by his side, and he is thankful for that. This song moves from thoughts in his head to the external pain that he will feel in “what hurts me...”

this song is the perfect connection between his thoughts and his reality. the glue between projects. this also has a feature with his talented sister (Kayla Ann) showing his ability to work with other artists and create something beautiful while still staying true to the story line of his life.
